The second edition of the WOODRISE World Congress on mid- and high-rise wood buildings will be held in Canada, in historic Quebec City, from September 30 to October 3, 2019.
The event will be presented in partnership with members of the WOODRISE Alliance in collaboration with national partners. This new edition aims to ensure the continuity of WOODRISE and stimulate the synergy established between international participants, while positioning wood as a leading building material within a sustainable and eco- responsible urban development environment.
Today, FPInnovations is launching the woodrise2019.ca website, an information hub that will enable participants or anyone interested in the event to find useful and relevant information about the Congress. The site will be regularly updated to give you a chance to obtain information on workshops offered, the presenters, and the proposed visits. You are invited to refer to it on a regular basis so that you can plan your visit well.
The WOODRISE 2019 program, to be launched shortly, will present the topics that will be addressed in the plenary sessions as well as the various components of the workshops, namely: acoustic and vibration performance, seismic risk prevention, fire safety, forest resources and wood products, Asian construction markets, and sustainable design of building envelopes. Further details will be available at a later date; visit the event website on a regular basis to learn more.
Registration will begin in February 2019. To that end, and to make sure you don’t miss anything, you can subscribe to the newsletter or get an emailed registration notification for your agenda under the Registration tab of the website.
From October 11 to 16, as a follow-up to the various activities organized by WOODRISE’s partners, the WOODRISE Festival will be held in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. This event will showcase “Wood in the City” in all its forms. Talks, discussions, visits, roundtabless, as well as a parade, games, trails, and concerts are planned.
For professionals and the general public, the WOODRISE Festival is a collective and unifying event that includes some thirty activities. The full program is available on the Festival website.
