Resolute Forest Products Inc. has announced the appointment of Remi Lalonde as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Lalonde succeeds Jo-Ann Longworth, who will be retiring after a distinguished career, including the past seven years as senior vice president and chief financial officer at Resolute.Lalonde had been serving as vice president, Strategy and Corporate Development, since May 2018. Previously, he was general manager of Resolute’s pulp and paper mill in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Before taking a leadership role in operations, Lalonde was treasurer and vice president, Investor Relations. He initially joined the company as senior counsel, Securities, following six years at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York. Lalonde holds bachelor’s degrees in both law and civil engineering from the University of Ottawa.
