The Ontario Woodlot Association is holding its annual two-day conference and meeting in Brantford starting Friday, March 20.

The conference is being held at the Best Western Brant Park Inn and will cover a range of topics including the environment, invasive species, tree-cutting bylaws and the state of the province’s forests. It is being held by the Brant, Haldimand and Niagara chapters of the woodlot association.

Activities include a tour of the local Tigercat factory which manufactures large forestry equipment, and a guided walk through Grand River Conservation Authority Lands. A dinner-social is being held at the Brant Rod and Gun Club and a tour of the Paul Helm Fish Hatchery is planned for Friday evening.

On Saturday, the conference will feature speakers covering a range of topics as well as the woodlot association’s annual meeting.
