Due to the success of our 2020 High Performance Lignin Challenge Fund, CRIBE and Nextfor are launching a new Accelerated Commercialization Trial (ACT) funding opportunity for lignin commercialization.
We’re looking for standing or newly established consortiums which have commercial or pre-commercial ready technologies, solutions and projects that will increase the commercial readiness of one of the following lignin based platforms:
· Polymer Fine Chemicals;
· Thermoplastics and Composites
This Funding Challenge will be open from May 3rd, 2021 to July 5th, 2021.
The Forest Technology Commercial Acceleration Program (CAP) will de-risk demonstration and commercialization of first in-kind innovative technology, equipment or data techniques that can address the specified challenges and opportunities facing Ontario’s forest sector.
The funding is a private/public joint innovation fund, requiring matching contribution from the project proponent. The funding is split into two streams, totaling $500,000 contribution over two years by the Centre for Research and Innovation in the Bio-economy (CRIBE).
Small Commercial Acceleration Project (CAP) stream will be up to $50,000 CRIBE contribution (minimum $100,000 project value).
Medium Commercial Acceleration Project (CAP) stream will be $50,000-$100,000 CRIBE Contribution (minimum $100,000 project value). Projects of greater value may be considered.
A first round of Small CAP proposals are invited in an open call from May 3, 2021 to December 31, 2021.
