Prince George, B.C. – The Member of Parliament for Skeena Bulkley Valley is concerned that small mills do not have the financial capacity to weather the storm caused by countervailing duties placed on softwood lumber exported to the U.S. Even with the federal government’s assistance measure, MP Nathan Cullen told a local news site, 250news, “My worry is that, in particular, some of the smaller mills that operate in the North. They don’t have the cash reserves. They can’t sustain prolonged attacks against their product.”
