MONTREAL – EACOM Timber has joined the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC). Kevin Edgson, EACOM CEO, says the association is well known for being a strong voice for Canada’s forest products industry. “We are proud to join the movement and eager to work with the association and its members to promote the social, economic and environmental benefits of forestry.”

Canada’s forest products industry is a $67-billion dollar a year industry that represents two per cent of Canada’s GDP.

“EACOM’s commitment to sustainable forest management practices, innovative advanced technology, and providing good jobs to talented people makes us proud to have them as an FPAC member,” says Derek Nighbor, CEO FPAC.

EACOM employs 1100 employees and owns seven sawmills in Timmins, Gogama, Elk Lake, Ear Falls and Nairn Centre in Ontario and Matagami and Val-d’Or in Québec. EACOM also owns a remanufacturing facility in Val-d’Or, Québec, and an engineered I-joists plant in Sault-Ste. Marie, Ontario.
