The Ontario Biomass Producers Co-Op is taking steps to add some structure to their industry.
The Co-op is implementing Central Desk Selling and a Check Off Collection Mechanism.
The Check-Off will generate funds to promote the co-operative.
Central Desk Selling is going to be used to develop an advertising strategy on behalf of the co-operative.
Buyers looking for biomass will contact the co-operative’s administration, which will then connect those buyers with producers.
The co-operative will collect production and sales reports from producers each spring to help sell the product, determine producers check-off contribution and generate stats for building the industry.
The Ontario Biomass Producers Co-op was established in 2010 to explore the sustainable production and marketing of biomass.
