Wahkohtowin GP Development Inc., a regional Aboriginal economic development corporation for three Chapleau area First Nations, and First Resource Management Group Inc., have officially launched a Joint Venture Aboriginal forest management company, known as Mistikuskahk Resources Inc. This week we signed our first forest management contract with the enhanced SFL participants on the Magpie Forest. The Board of Directors of the evolving eSFL company have hired Mistikuskahk to provide forest management services to meet the Company’s obligations on the Magpie Forest Crown Management Unit.
We are very excited about this chance to work collaboratively with Wahkohtowin. We hope to expand this business model with other First Nations who aim to build their capacity, skills and human resources in forest management.
