34th Kemptville Winter Woodlot Conference! Covid Edition

EASTERN ONTARIO MODEL FOREST — February is the traditional time for woodlot owners to gather in Kemptville for the winter woodlot conference. Like other organizations affected by the COVID pandemic, the KWWC has had to adapt. So, through the month of February, the planning committee has put together a weekly series of FREE noon hour webinars. As in the golden days of TV/radio, you are invited to gather around your computer screen to listen and view our special forest themed presentations.

Forest Health – February 3, 2021 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Gypsy Moth Outbreak 2020
The presentation will provide a synopsis of this past year’s outbreak in eastern Ontario and the steps that landowners can take if they spot the Gypsy moth in their woodlots.

Wildlife – February 10, 2021 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Wildlife Trees in Your Woodlot
The presentation will cover all wildlife trees, which includes nut and fruit trees, and other features including cavity trees, isolated conifers and stick nests.

Wildland Fire: Prevention and Mitigation Strategies
The presentation will look at wildland fire risk and methods to mitigate the impacts of
wildland fire.
