Robots, drones & more cool tech! FPInnovations showcases the tech ingenuity of forestry at BC’s biggest ever tech summit, which opened today at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
The two-day inaugural #BCTECH Summit shines the spotlight on BC’s vibrant tech industry, bringing some of the biggest names in technology including investors, researchers, industry and government officials to build cross-sector opportunities for businesses and encourage all industries to gain a competitive advantage by further connecting to the growing tech sector.
FPInnovations’ work in research, technology and innovation is on display at the #BCTECH Summit Technology Showcase, January 18-19, along with the latest BC tech inventions.
A long roster of speakers, including an opening keynote by Premier Christy Clark, will highlight some of the most pressing issues facing the BC tech industry including innovation, big data and clean technology, among others.
On January 19, Pierre Lapointe, the President and CEO of FPInnovations, is moderating a breakout session on natural resources. Panelists comprising the movers and shakers of the sector will discuss the actions and opportunities around innovation and how applied innovative technologies can unite them as leaders in responsible natural resource development in B.C. Panelists include Carl Weatherell, Executive Director & CEO, Canada Mining Innovation Council; Gurminder Minhas, Managing Director, Performance BioFilaments Inc.; Stephen Lougheed, President & CEO, Alberta Innovates – Technology Futures.
